Join The Beermongers and Speakeasy rep Brandon as we tap three special Speakeasy draft beers direct from the Bay Area:

Untouchable Pale Ale
Vendetta Imperial IPA (not Double Daddy)

We also hope to be sampling the rest of their lineup from bottles and have some kind of Speakeasy stuff to give away to those purchasing pints/glasses.

We are moving our “cellar” to Portland Wine Storage and we need to make room for all our new beer by clearing our some of the vintage stuff. Join the BeerMongers for a special tasting event featuring the beers of Seven Brides from Silverton, Oregon. The brewer/owner Josiah Kelley will be at the store to showcase some of the fine beers he has created. We will have three brews on draft including two unique small batch beers:

Frankenlou’s IPA: Wickedly hoppy IPA with 105 IBUs 7%abv

*Abbey Apple Ale(AAA): Combination of apple cider and beer with crisp aftertaste of Mom’s apple pie. Cinnamon and nutmeg balance the light clean taste of this golden ale. 10 IBUs 5%

*Sour Belgian Dubble: This Belgian style Dubble was aged in wine barrels to create a balanced sweet and soured ale. 8% abv

There will be Whiskey Barrel Aged beers from Boneyard, Full Sail and Deschutes plus Breakside’s award winning Dry Irish Stout and other great brews. FREE “Campbell Family” Irish Dinner which includes corned beef, taters, cabbage and soda bread. Our friend Lew Jones will provide the Irish music starting at 7:30pm following the Portland Timbers game on the BIG SCREEN. Slainte!

Join the BeerMongers for a special evening featuring the beers of Anchor Brewing. The original craft brewery in the United States has been producing world class beers in San Francisco since 1971, although the roots of this great brewery go back to 1871. By 1975 Anchor was producing its Porter, Liberty Ale, Old Foghorn Barleywine and Christmas Ale which are still staples of their line and available at The BeerMongers because they are simply great beers. We will have several Anchor brews on tap and two special guests from the brewery. Cheers!

Saturday, January 21st, 2012 from 6-9pm at The Beermongers

Elysian/Fantagraphics will officially kick off our 12 Beers of the Apocalypse beer series with the release of NIBIRU Yerba Mate Tripel! Nibiru will be released on tap and available in bottles at The Beermongers. Also, Elysian’s local Beer Enthusiast, PDX Dave, will be on hand to join in the revelry and give out some cool stuff.

Like a planet on a collision course with earth, but WAY BETTER, the Elysian / Fantagraphics Nibiru is a Belgian-style Tripel flavored with an infusion of yerba maté. Combining the tasty esters of Belgian yeast and the compelling tea-like flavors of the South American herb mixture, the beer weighs in at 7.6% alcohol by volume. A mixture of German Northern Brewer, Czech Saaz and American Amarillo hops round out the uniqueness of this first beer of the Apocalypse. Come try some for yourself!

It’s back! What started with a keg of Block 15′s Figgy Pudding is now an annual event. We’re getting ourselves involved in the holiday frenzy by filling our taps with rare holiday themed beers. Everyone needs respite from the holiday shopping and family. Everyone needs beer.
